I was looking at Fat Quaterly's site and saw that a few women were busy with a QAL that would be of blocks from around the world. They had already chosen all the people who would make the blocks from different countries but alas South Africa was not represented.
Okay, so I'll make my own "local" block. It's called Cape Carnival Minstrel.
Here we call these Carnival Dancers - "Kaapse Klopse". Loads of fun to watch at New Year. In the background you see Table Mountain.
The block measures 12" (30cm) and is on an Intermediate level but without any small attaching pieces.
