Block 9 is Finished!

Today we're back to doing our QAL Art Quilt Up Date:

Let's face it, we're in the home stretch now!
The last column is here...... well, the first of three......

This is my block this week

This week there are only 2 pieces to stitch together.
That being said, the one piece is HUGE but taken one segment at a time - its totally easy....

To make things easier for me to hold onto and to be able to line up fabric, I decided that the one end needs to just get folded over and over so that I can work with it - and it worked out perfectly fine.

These are the 2 pieces made and then joined together to form the block.

You will see that this block is much bigger in width than the last few. Perfectly okay!

This column will wait for the next two blocks to be attached before we sew the columns together.  After that we tackle the face.

This is my "Art Quilt" so far.  I had to find a larger piece of batting for it to be able to take a photo of it. Now you will be able to see how big its going to be. I'm thinking of putting a dark border on mine as well when all is done.

I hope you're all still managing to do your 1 block a week.

On another note:
I've changed my Blog Button and if you'd like one - you can grab it HERE...

My Paper Piecing 1/4" Digital Magazine is also still dancing around and we're having a ton of fun with this - learning new skills too.....

There are 15 fantastic full patterns for you to try out.
The site for the Magazine is qadpublishing.blogspot.com
hop on over and have a look around

Have a wonderful week-end

I hope you will do parade of all the quilts created during your QAL. I'm interested to see in different fabrics :) I like the flying hair in the air you have created in this pattern.

This is fantastic, I'd never really thought about using paper piecing in art quilting but it makes perfect sense!
Thanks for linking up.
