What have you all been up to this week?
I've actually got around to starting the quilting of my Triangle Quilt.
For the backing I found some fabric that I'm really excited about - it's made here in South Africa, 100% cotton and is actually not bad looking - for African fabric that is.....
I'm still looking into all of it, but I'm hoping to start a small Online Fabric Shop - specializing in selling African fabrics.... well, only the nice ones that is...
Once I've done quilting and taken a few decent photos of the back and fabrics, I'll be posting all about it.
I'm only going to do straight lines on each of the sides of
the triangles.
===============================
I'm also starting to get the pattern pieces ready for the "Quiet Landscape Art Quilt QAL" that starts on Friday. YaaaaY!
These pieces you see here are the first block. They will be scanned (for instructions pages), taped together, sewn and sewn together.
And whaaalaa! it will make the sky and the roof of the one building. Not even hard.
This time around I want to actually use more patterned fabrics in the Art Quilt too. I'm such a plain fabric freak that I have to force myself to do different as well.....
For those who have eagle eyes, you can also see I'm going to do my Sept. BOM for the garden as well.
Anyone can still join us. The info for the QAL is on the Art QAL Page.
We start this Friday 15 August with the Instructions and Fabric Requirement Pages.
=================================
Before we run, I must show you my cute postcards that I received.
This giraffe came from Kay Laboda (USA) - really cute
And the little chicken/bird came from Carolyn Trezona (RSA) - so beautiful. It even has a tiny bead as an eye.
Have a great Wednesday...

Great colors for the triangle quilt! It's so pretty and striking. Those post cards are too cute!
So happy to see you are doing the quilting for your triangle quilt! The backing looks fabulous. Looking forward to that finish!
Love a good triangle quilt! Yours is so pretty with the purples and blues.
Janeen your work is always lovely.
What beautiful and vibrant colors in the triangle top. I love the peak at the backing fabric and how calming it is in comparison. Straight line quilting seems perfect for this quilt.
Yay for triangle quilt. Looking good!
I love your triangle quilt. I had such a hard time deciding on a good quilting motif for the tiny one I made for a swap. I love your colors. The post cards are awesome! I recently joined a postcard swap with my quilt guild. I haven't received my postcard, but making them was a nice change of pace.
