Today is our Lake QAL #6 - Already
Wow, the time has flown by
Let's get started:
Our photos and finished block were made by Karin Pope of the UK.
Thanks for your help Karin - I really appreciate it!!
As usual we start with cutting out our pattern pieces and joining the pieces that were spread over 2 pages. Then we do our preparation work with writing our colour choices onto the sections.
You can pre-cut your fabrics into small chunks or you can cut the fabrics as you go along - makes no difference (only depends on how much OCD you have.....LOL!)
Make sure the colour you write onto the segments is correct and lines up with the other weeks work or you will be getting out the seam ripper.....
this week we have a few long strips to be sewn down and you can use pins to hold it in place while you're sewing. Take care to line up your pieces of the tree's reflection on the water.
If I have to line up I will always start from that spot and then move outwards towards the ends and use pins to hold it in place. If you line up from the sides - you will find that it won't always listen and will be a few millimeters out - very frustrating....
This is our Week #6 piece finished -
beautiful!!!
Once this block is made, you can join it to the week #5 piece.
Only one more week and you will have 2 rows done already....
Really looking amazing!
How are all of you doing with the QAL? Coping?
Let me know....
Now it's your turn !!

** If you missed the previous weeks blog posts on how we put it all together, you can find them in the Art Quilt page -
under the image of the Forest or the Lake. Each of the 12 weeks will
also be posted there for others who will make their quilt a little
later....

Such amazing details! Your designs are all so beautiful, Janeen!
Ahh so pretty! I'm falling a few weeks behind with the QAL, but I still love making it when I get a free moment!
Gorgeous!
Wonderful PP pattern, love it.
