Week #12 of the Lake Art Quilt

THE LAST ONE!!

We have got to our last week on the Lake Art Quilt
Well Done to all who have slogged through making this beautiful 12 week project!

Our beautiful photos and quilt top are the hard work of Karin Pope of the UK.
Thank you so very much! It all just simply gorgeous!
Without your help non of this would have been possible.

Let's get to the How To:

This is the week 12 pattern all laid out.

Write onto each piece which colour you would like to use so that you don't become confused with the crab's legs later on.

You can make the crab whatever colour you like.

This is the piece that the crab takes up (the empty piece)

A lady asked me if I would be able to change the crab for something else and I think that this photo shows the possibility. If you could place a piece of paper under this and draw that shape, you could always find something to fussy cut and add in here. Just remember it needs seams and be the right size too.

Once your colours are either cut or planned out, you can start to sew the sections.

Pieces are all pretty straight foward on this one. Just do your preparation work first and you will be stitching through them in no time.

This is the completed Week 12 block - the crab.
I just love those fabrics - makes the crab look really interesting.

Now we can sew the week 11 and 12 together to make our last strip for the Art Quilt.

Remember to match up points along the sections when joining the last piece to the quilt top.
Using clips or pins helps to keep everything in place

I love this stage! Once you finish you can open up the full picture... its like looking at a painting you've created......

This ladies is the LAST stitch! LOL!

Wonderful!
I hope to see many more finishes really soon...

This is our completed Lake Art Quilt - totally amazing!
Karin your work is so neat. Thank you for all your hard work.

The Lake can now be added to your Forest Art Quilt if you have finished both of them.

This is another finished Lake Quilt made by a good friend - Joan Wintersgill of the USA.

Simply stunning!
