Day #6 Halloween Haunts

Halloween Haunts 2015

After a long week of waiting...
IT's MY TURN!!

This is the block I designed for my day - 18" (46 cm) Easy Intermediate Level
Block is paper pieced - but of course!! and will be FREE for this week-end - after that into the shop it goes....

The pieces are pretty big so assembly of the block is really easy and quick.

The fun part was to find colours that were bright and vibrant to add to the block while keeping it looking a little Halloween - ish....

The block stayed on the desktop for who knows how long and eventually I decided I'm making a quick reversible tote bag - only because I just don't want another pillow...

I looked for an easy pattern for a reversible tote and found one I liked on the Spoonflower blog.
Great tutorial and photos to help you make yours quickly and easily too...

Link for the Tote Bag:  HERE

This is the reverse - inside of the bag - I used the same colour as in some of the letters.
I stuffed the bag with a rolled up small quilt - so it holds quite a bit too.

The finished bag is around 16.5" (42 cm)

Before I made my tote bag I was designing a small quilt around this block BUT unfortunately if I want to get to that stage it might take a few Halloweens....

The quilt size is 30" without any strips between the blocks.

You could make it cute with the owl and moon or just plain scary with the monster breaking through....

All blocks are in my Craftsy Shop

I hope you enjoy making the Halloween Hop block and Tote!!
