Art Work Quilt

A while ago a friend asked me to make a quilt that was inspired by an artwork - and of course I jumped at the chance. It could be small or cover the side of building - no problem.

Only thing is who to choose. I love art! I love all the old masters, the modern pieces, all of them....
Then I remembered I saw a book illustrators work the other day and I was so excited and inspired ....

So I got to work on my own Art work Quilt with a load of Harper thrown in too...

By May this year it needs to be done! Im hoping that it doesnt become a problem....

I printed out the pattern for my 38x52" (130x90cm) "Woodland" and it was 52 pages long.... and then had to sit and cut out all those pieces, arrange them into groups etc.... (still not put off...)
and now I've started making this bad boy.

At first look you'd think its close to madness, but now that I've started it, Im having a load of fun. Ive started to sew again - really going slowly - but this is really what I needed...

A few closeups of the lil animals and birds in the woods...

I seem to have a 'thing' for the forests and trees and adding birds etc....

What have you all been up to?

 Thanks for stopping by!
