Happy Friday #1....

A while ago I received a very nasty email telling me NOT to link my blog to their "finish up" blog whatever.... because my work was not a finish and they have to remove it every time ..... what a joke! I laughed so loud....

My design is a finish in my eyes. Once I've gone through the whole process from start to end result of a pattern, then I most certainly do call it a finish....
but not to worry, I won't bother to add my stuff to blogs that have that kind of attitude again, I'll just make my own - a Happy Friday to you !!

Please know that you are welcome to add whatever quilting photo you feel you're happy about ....
I'll post these up on random Friday's so that you can link your work - even if it isn't a FINISH...

This is a Feather design I was working on this morning

The pattern measures 10x8" (26x21cm) and is on the Intermediate level

Its a FREE - Happy Friday to you -  pdf download...
Enjoy!

Have a Great Week-End!

How dare you have your own definition of finish!!! How dare you!!! One of my next goal is to try one of your design. I only did a few easy practice blocs right now.

How rude of them!

I actually have something to link up today as I've finally finished my Tower Bridge block, and I'm so pleased with how it turned out :-)

Sometimes I've thought that my finished top or block is a finish, too. Here I can show that kind of finish. Thank you. I'll see what I come up with today.

Beautiful design Janeen! That is so sad that a link up party did that! You always know I enjoy having you link to my Tuesday Linky!

It's certainly a shame how rude people can be, and it's disheartening. Thank you for the peacock feather pattern, it's gorgeous! I'm also super excited to get going on the Honey Bees QAL!

I, too, have been 'spanked' while linking up to a party. I had linked up with my phone while out in No Man's Land, but a glitch made it impossible to add the link. I had to wait to get to my hotel to do it on my laptop. During that hour, I got a pointed email telling me she required that back link of I was going to link up. It threw a wet blanket over the whole thing, and I voted with my feet. I added the link to my post, and prompted removed the party button from my long list of link up parties. Mind you, I was having my own link parties at the time, and couldn't believe her rudeness. It was a lesson.

A link party is just that. It's a way for a blogger hostess to gain traffic to her site, often launching something she's selling, or just to build traffic. For the person linking up, it's a way to show what she or he is doing, and meet other bloggers. Decorum is expected from both sides! Thank your hostess for having the party if you are linking up. The hostess generally thanks all the bloggers in her post, and often follows up by visiting the links herself. I associate what happened with you as showing up to a party and the hostess saying, "How dare you show up to my party wearing THAT!" Really!

You've done the best thing possible, and I am honored to be a part of your party. Does it matter when you've made a couple mug rugs, or an entire king size quilt? If you specialize in design, the design is most definitely the finish. The same when I dye several yards of fabric. We determine our own finishes, and not the last stitch of binding.

Thank you for having us all. Such a lovely day for a party!

I can't get over how rude and just plain mean that blogger was! Good for you for rising above their idiocity!!! You are amazing and so creative!! THANKS for the beautiful feather pattern! Have a lovely weekend!

Thank you for this feather pattern. It reminds me of a peacock feather. I agree with Julie. If a pattern is finished and ready to be offered to people, it is a finished. Otherwise, a Linky party hostess/host should specify what they consider a finish. It is not necessary to be rude and proper communication with politeness would be better for all. That is true for all of life, not just blogland.

I am glad you can laugh about the whole thing.

Thank you very much for the free feather pattern. I enjoy reading your posts and have joined in for a few linky parties but usually no one leaves any comments since I don't have a blog yet so only use Flickr. I'd post a pic but I have none.

Thank you for another amazing free pattern. You're work and generosity are both inspired and inspiring!

Lovely pattern. You are very generous. I don't have a blog and don't understand linky parties although the idea sounds fun. I continually find it amazing how people will say things online that they would never say to your face. You kept your sense of humor!

How extraordinarily rude of them. I quit following blogs that won't let me link up because I don't have a blog, and I tell them so. Not everyone has the time or ability to have a blog. I even quit looking at the big online quilt show link up twice a year because she only allows people with blogs to link up. No flikr or Instagram or anything else allowed, as I was curtly told, only serious quilters. Maybe I'm being sensitive, but I no longer enjoy the business of most quilt blogs. I still follow you because you're not constantly selling things that don't have to do with your art, nor do I have to pay a membership fee to see 90% of the blog. cdahlgren at live dot com

I got booted or removed from a link up too because I linked to her generic blog/site and not the specific page (because I like to schedule my posts so I didn't have her page link then) so I just give up

People so so amaze me.. Like one other commenter mentions, I thought the whole idea of linking up was to drive traffic not only to their site, but to yours also. I hope that she is finishing everything she produces in order to make that kind of demand on others. Personally, if I finish a block, I'm so happy, it's a rare day that I actually have a finished project to show off.

There are plenty of bloggers who will welcome your artwork/blocks/patterns Janeen, and if I did linky parties (I still get confused by them) you would most certainly be welcome. Love ya babe, Your the best.
