Day 8 of the Giveaway

Hello to all who have been following along so faithfully...

Today we're on Day 8 of our 12 Days of
Christmas Giveaways and the Gingerbread Village.

Today we are on Block #11

Its soooo quick to put this block together...

Its the cute pond where the Gingerbread men come to play....

The block measures 10x14" and is on the intermediate level.

I also just wanted to answer a question or two from the week-end.

The colour boxes in the pattern pieces are the colour codes that correspond with the colour chart. Its is so that you will know which colour goes where. You don't need to use my colours but they are there so that you can get an idea on how much fabric to get.

The pattern pieces all have a Alphabetic number (say B) and in pattern piece B there are numbers that go in order (B1, B2, B3 etc). This is the sewing sequence.

In the instructions you get I tell you to first make all the sections of the pattern for that block and then I tell you to join them ( Join A + B) This means you join pattern piece A to pattern piece B. This is the part where all joins up to form a cute block.
On the right hand side is a video on how to do paper piecing - its a UTube video and although not this pattern, all paper piecing works exactly the same.

The large size chart is there to give you a better visual idea of what you're doing, again, you don't need to print it all out, but look at it from your computer screen or even iPad screen while you're working because the smaller design numbering sheet sometimes can get really small.

******************************

Thanks for all the kind words and the encouragement.
Im feeling a load better after snoozing most of the week-end and now that Im taking antibiotics Im really getting there a lot sooner.

**************************

That's it! and now you're off to visit

Marian at Seams to be Sew

Have a Great day! See you all tomorrow

Thanks for all the support and encouragement!

Janeen, I am so loving this pattern that both of you are creating!! Both styles really complement each other and it's fun to be able to do both in one pattern. I finally tried piecing again. To get the paper out without pulling the threads I read about dampening the seams with a water filled Qtip first, let sit a moment then take out. I wait 'til it dries to brush away any little pieces that remained. I was a big chicken to try the piecing but this has made it fun for me now!!! Not sure what google plus is...so been trying to leave comments...hope this makes it in.

I'm all caught up on the blocks after the weekend. It is coming out so darn cute. I found it to be very helpful to print out the large chart especially when working with some of the small pieces. Thanks for all you do!

I just found your blog over the weekend and absolutely adore the quilt! How generous of you both to share your wonderful creativity, I only wish I had found you sooner. I do hope that the parts that I have missed will be available for purchase later. Again, thank you❣
