January Block of the Month

Hello to everyone!

A very Happy New Year to all of you. I hope it will be a year filled with peace and loads of sewing...

Today I get to reveal the
Block of the Month for January.

Our theme this year is "Into the Wild" but we will be concentrating on Birds...

The blocks will also have a strong Charley Harper influence to them along with a little of myself mixed in there too.

I really hope you enjoy the blocks this year.

The first block up is a 'Vireo' and our block has the moon behind them showing through the leaves...
The block measures 16" (41cm) and is on the Intermediate level

Here is a block sewn up for us by Joan Wintersgill of Texas.

The pattern has 2 different colour ways. You can sew your bird in the bright colour or the more natural (as in nature) colours.

Either way its really beautiful .... its up to you.

I have added both colour ways in the pattern with fabric charts and patterns for both.

This is the block in the natural colours sewn by Ulrike Brandl of Germany.

The pattern was reduced to make an 8" block. Its amazing!

This block was sewn by Mania Hatziionannidi of Greece.

I love the dark background fabric!

This cute as can be cushion was made up by Magdalena Alge.
Isn't it beautiful! So pretty.

You can go and download your Free for the Month pattern

Once the new block arrives in February this block will be a paid block.

I hope you all enjoy the Block of the Month this year....
Here is some of the other blocks I have done, but I just haven't had time to finish them all yet...

I absolutely love this block! This is going to be a great BOM! Are you planning to make all of your backgrounds the same colors, or will they all be different? Jadahlgr at Yahoo dot Com

I love Charlie Harper designs, especially the birds. I just happened to have made a collage of this one and carved a stamp.
Thank you for the time you take to make these beautiful patterns and your generosity , can't wait to sew this one up!

I absolutely love this QAL! I bought 4 yards of a beautiful sky blue planning on using all the same background fabrics. Will using all the same backgrounds work, and do you think that would be enough if I'm careful? I noticed that some of the birds are blue, so that's why I'm wondering if a blue background will work.
