Wed. WIP - Joy!

While I was nosing around Moda's website looking at all the wonderful fabrics, I found a pattern that I wanted to give a try. Its a simple repeat pattern and I think that's where it's facination lies.

This is a photo of the pattern front page. The design is called Joy by Kate Spain  and is on the Moda website as a free pattern.

When I saw this I knew I wanted to make this - although not with Christmas fabrics.

I bought a batik roll - "Over the Rainbow Batiks" by Moda the other day and I changed my plans with it and now its being turned into this lovely pattern.

The colours are mainly from yellow greens through to the blues, purples and dark blues. The patterns on the fabrics remind me of the ocean.

Here are the first blocks being put together, and then I've lined up the colours, so each time there's a colour change I just choose another.

You can see the pattern emerging already and now to find the time to get everything done that needs doing........

good thing it's not a race!

Great News!
