Art Quilt Progress

Today we are already at Week 11 of our "Girl in the Wind" QAL Art Quilt.

Suddenly you can see a lot of the progress you have made and its just a short hop and we will be finished.....

This week I made all my segments first and then sewed them together to form the block.

This is the last block of the hair  (GOOD! - can't wait to get stuck in with the face sections).

The block needs to get sewn onto the bottom of week 10's block. The column is now finished and the two columns can be joined together.

When you've joined the hair blocks together, you can stand back and admire your work a little - by now you've earned it.......

I also start to look at all the waves of hair and imagine how it's blowing about in the wind. Thinking of what I want to do when I apply myself to a little FMQ.......

Now and then my eye catches a line where I didn't line it up exactly or it was looking a little skew...... but you know what - SO WHAT! This is sewing a curved line showing motion using straight lines.

You can pat yourself on the back for tackling this Art Quilt.

We are almost there! Only the face left to do.

If by now you haven't seen the Paper Piecing Digital Magazine - You can still grab yourself a single edition or even a subscription at:  qadpublishing.blogspot.com
15 Full Patterns for you to have a paper piecing frenzy with.

The second edition is going to be availabe on 1 July 2014

The only "Finish" I really have this Friday is my Mini-Quilt that I made and wrote a detailed tutorial to go with it. It was for total newbies in the quilting world.

The full posts can be seen at Fine Craft Guild Blogsite.

And before I go - this is my 'newest' design and Art Quilt that I'm going to be working on -
My heart goes out to the families of the girls taken in Nigeria - can you even imagine it.....
Total madness....

The hair is looking fabulous, Janeen! Great job with the mini and with the North African Woman pattern. What is happening in Nigeria is driving me crazy!
