BOM HST May

Hello All!
Today is the BOM Half Square Triangles turn...

This is our design for May - "Village" - it looks like little houses with streets that run past and a 'square' in the centre. I had a load of fun playing around with this design and when this pattern emerged, I was thrilled.

This block measures 18" (45cm) and is all traditionally pieced half square triangles.

I used white and 4 other black and white fabrics.

After cutting my squares, I paired them up and made my half squares.

I lay all my blocks out so that I don't get the order wrong when sewing my rows.

This is a closer shot of the fabrics - the prints are soooooo lovely.

I think the fabric was "Monotone March".

Sewing all my rows together and then......

TaDa!  .....    This is my finished block - Super Lovely!!

After sewing up the block that I made, I then played around with it in EQ7.
It would make a fantastic quilt on its own too.

Then I added colours just to show that it would look fantastic that way as well.

This block for May with instructions is available in my Craftsy  shop or
find the link in the HST Bom Page.

If your would like to share your block, then please feel free to post a photo to our Flickr group. Thanks.

Don't Forget!!
There is something exciting happening over at Freemotion at the River with Connie Reskin today.
Hop on over there and take a look...

The QAL "Girl in the Wind" will be posted on Monday.

Great to see so many possibilities for HSTs. This block is pretty cool.

cool block, I've done a couple of quilts with HST recently, but need to work on my technique a little more.
