QAL "Girl in the Wind" Week 10
Wow, this has almost come to the end of the QAL. I've seen a few of your Art Quilts in photos that you have posted either on Flickr or on your blog, and they are AMAZING! I love the hair done with patterned fabrics too.
Have any of you given thought to what you are going to do in the line of quilting yet? I'm thinking of making the 'background' look like wind swirling around - not too sure of what I want to do on the hair yet.
This is our block for week 10.
The large pieces each week make me a little crazy, but since I've started folding up the paper on the sides and then placing my next piece of fabric, it works really well.
Our finished block for this week.
This block gets sewn onto last week's block to form the second part of the column.
In these photos my background looks like a darkish beige but I think its the light in my sewing room, the fabric is really a greenish colour.
Once all is done, I'll take it outside somewhere to have a photo shoot...
So far so good.... This is what we have so far. Only 2 more ladies, only 2.
Do you all remember my "Monotone Portrait"?
This was Potrait 1
Now meet Portrait 2 -
"North African Woman"
The design is now finished and just needs time to get sewn together.
This one measures 18" x 22"
That's it for Monday
Have a great day

I am so amazed by your paper piecing! It's absolutely gorgeous, and I want to be at your level someday. Thanks for linking up to Anything Goes Monday!

Amazing. Will be checking back to see the finish. North African lady is perfect.
Your Girl in the Wind is amazing! You are such a teaser - making us all wait for the facial part! Love the addition of the North African Woman to your monotone collection. We can all relate to your womanly designs!
super cool! it's amazing how much detail you can get with paper piecing!
