May Block of the Month

Hello to everyone!

It's already May and time for the Block of the Month..

But which one first...
So it will be both today.....

We start with our Beginners BOM

This is our 7th block so far. It is a beginner level block and really easy to do.

Once you have cut out your pattern pieces and written the name of your fabrics (I wrote light, medium and dark) you are ready to sew.

Getting yourself prepared is really important before you start sewing - it helps cut out the headaches and frustration later....

This is my block for May Beg BoM.
Instead of the four corners being the same, I changed it up and made the opposite corners the same fabric.

The overall block is then a 9 square and you need to match up the block corners when you sew past them in a straight line.

Here are all my blocks so far. Next month we make 2 again.

The pattern is Free for May
You can find it in my Craftsy shop.

There is a BOM page button on the right of the blog where you will find all the block of the month information. On each of these I will add the pattern with quick links too.

Now we move on to our
"Wanderlust" - Block of the Month

This BoM is for more Intermediate and Advanced level.

This month we are flying on to Germany and we will land and visit Berlin...

Our block is of the Victory Column and the Angel on the top of it - also known as Golden Elsa.

I asked 2 ladies if they could help me with this one and both were so kind to make it for us.
Thank you to both of you for helping to test this block. It worked out perfectly and I love both of these blocks very much!!!

This amazing block is by Dagmar Kessler of Germany.
