Friday Fun Day...

Hi there...

I've been rummaging around in my stash for fabrics to use in the Landscape QAL...

I like to keep all my colours separate and the scraps too.... loads of little bins to look in. With paper piecing I find that I can use up scraps of colour in a project very easily and you sometimes don't need a whole lot. So if cutting a new piece is not necessary, Im not going down that road.

Here are some of my fabrics so far (everything is open to change at the last minute)...

I also wanted to quickly show my colour chart for the project.

Each landscape row will have its own fabric colour chart.
I mark mine with how much I still need to get, where it shows up on the design numbering chart etc.

These are all just notes for myself or you could cut out little swatches of colour and tape them to the colour chart - just as you feel comfortable working with.

The software only works in solid colours and will tell you how many times it found that particular colour (#1, used 72x). That is not a colour code reference, its just how many times it was found. The fabric is based on a 'strip' that is 8 - 12" .  The software will always tell you it is a Width of Fabric because that's the way it knows how to calculate it, but sometimes you will only need a scrap of fabric in a particular colour. Look at the black fabric. You dont need a whole strip of black - only a few black scraps.
I hope this helps....

Can't wait to get started, but I have a few other things to get finished first. This one is going to be a slow.....and steady...... sewing project.

I'm adding the first row pattern to Craftsy already so that you can get your fabrics ready....
Im so eager to start on this one!!
For more info you can go to the page - just find the button on the right side bar.
