Loads of WIP on my Plate

Been having a few hard days. My back just does not want me doing anything that involves sitting for too long. Progress on any project is soooooo slow. I sit and sew for only 10 minutes at a time. Then I lay down for a half hour..... and so on.......

These are still WIPs but I will get there!!!

This was my girl in the wind block which was turned into a pillow/cushion for my daughter. The quilting was to represent the wind blowing.

Sorry but this pic would not work with me and wanted to lie down on its side as well.

This was the Japanese Art quilt with applique work. Her face is almost done. I'm machine stitching - painting it on stitch by stich. Takes forever. The quilting also needs to get finished now.
Still not sure that this is my thing.

This is a quilt that I need to put together in a hurry. It's a charm pack of cute Christmas materials - Ho Ho Ho Let it Snow by Nancy Halvorsen. I still need to add the 3rd row of coloured fabrics and then the white border and TA DA! the top will be done. Then the whole sandwiching and quilting shall take place. This is a gift for my daughter's - boyfriend's mother. What a mouthful...

I'm still practicing my FMQ - Trying out various patterns and even a little Zentangle patterning.

Today is a sad and sombre day here in South Africa. The weather seems to agree with the rain coming down every half hour. Our beloved Nelson Mandela has passed away and our hearts go out to his family.
We will miss you Madiba.

Have a good week-end everyone!

It is a sad day for the world.

I'm at the practice quilting stage myself, way behind you. Still working on even stitches. Especially around curves.

Your Japanese Art Quilt is beautiful!

Yes, it was quite a sad day for the world. Rainy and somber here in PA, USA, too.

Love the quilting in your girl in the wind block. The Japanese lady is coming along very nicely.
So sorry about your loss of Mandela. His death was a loss to the whole world. Also sorry about your back. I've been having miscellaneous hip aches which might be from sitting so much with my assembly-line potholders. Giving quilting a rest this evening and matching colours for a pixel quilt in the future.
I admire your FMQ. I don't know if I'll ever conquer that. And since I discovered long arm and have a place to rent one, I don't have much motivation to do so.
Thanks again for joining my linky party.

working with a back problem is no joke. I deal with it too. You are certainly doing some terrific quilting despite it. I'm impressed.
