November Block of the Month

Hello to everyone all around the world.
Thanks for joining me

Today we have another in our "into the wild" bird blocks

This month our UK friends will recognize this cute bird...

Its a Blue Tit.  The pattern measures 16"(42cm) and is on the Intermediate level

Our beautiful block was sewn up for us by Joan Wintersgill of Texas. Isn't it gorgeous?!!
Thanks so very much Joan! I love all your blocks and appreciate all your time and hard work.

We're almost there with our Smaller Birds collection.
I have to already start thinking what I'd like to do next year, so I'm going to open up the comments to suggestions on what blocks you think we should attempt.

You can download the Free for November block right HERE.....<<<<<<

Thank you!!!! Another amazing pattern! You are so sweet to share your talent! I would love love love to see a collection of monthly patterns for a cabin like quilt.... like a little cabin or cottage block, a bear, a deer, chipmunk, raccoon, an evergreen, wolf, fox, elk, maybe a canoe.... I know you did something similar with the baby wild animals, but I was thinking these could be adults and all work together in a quilt you might see hanging in a cabin in the woods :) Can't wait to see what amazing ideas you come up with for next year!!!

thank you so much for sharing your talent with us. I have so enjoyed these birds. birds are a huge part of my life. I can see them outside of my sewing window. hmmm next year ideas? well, I know that what ever you come up with will be fantastic. maybe different kinds of cats, gnomes, birds in a different country, dogs. I will be happy with whatever you come up with. LOL my juices aren't flowing too well this early. have a wonderful day

Loving this block as much as the others and CANNOT wait to see this quilt come together!! Thank you! As for next year....BUGS!! Beetles in jewel colors, praying mantis, butterflies, dragonflies, even....spiders!! Maybe it will help me appreciate them more instead of fearing such creepy crawlies. Have a beautiful day!!

You know I love your stuff. Even commissioned some.
I think next year doing something like Mythical Creatures would be fun.

Please keep up the excellent work.

Thank you for all the patterns! Next year I would love to do dinosaurs, but I think I will like them whatever you choose :-)

I have been loving these birds and wouldn't mind more. But if you are tired of doing birds, how about butterflies, or snowflakes, or musical instruments, or fish or whatever you think up would be great. Thanks again for a lovely pattern.

Janeen, you really have found your niche in the paper piecing pattern design world. You produce blocks on a sophisticated level that no one else does. Well done.

I would like to see a pirate themed quilt. Blocks could include a ship, treasure chest, parrot, jolly roger and of course a pirate and his first mate. I think that would be fantastic. It's hard to find suitable patterns for boys and men. I made a quilt for my husband from your ocean themed blocks and everyone just fell in love with them.

Thank you very much for this block. I love the birds. Ideas for next year: flowers (I am a big fan of flowers), or household items, like jars, bowls, etc. I am sure you will find a wonderful new theme and I will probably like whatever you choose.

I, too would love boy appropriate designs.

Would you ever consider sharing how you design your wonderful patterns? My kids have been asking me to make them specific things, and I'm having trouble designing the patterns they request. Also, what software do you have?

I really love your designs, too. Haven't had the time to sew all the blocks this year immediately. This month block just inspired me to sew a quilt with all this years blocks for my mamas birthday next year. I'd really love a sealife theme. I really miss South Africa especially when it comes to diving and seeing all these amazing creatures! So all the fish, octopus, nudibranchs, eel, jelly fish, ..., you name it, please *said with puppy-eyes* ;)
